Pro-life film a successful resource

Jun 23, 2010

Church and community groups are using the documentary Maafa 21 to educate people on the truth about the abortion movement.

The documentary, subtitled Black Genocide in 21st Century America, traces abortion well back in the nation's history, showing that the purpose behind forming Planned Parenthood was to reduce or eliminate minority populations. Pastor Joseph Parker of Campbell Chapel African Methodist Episcopal church of Pulaski, Tennessee, tells OneNewsNow that the film is about more than just abortion.

"It's about a number of things that happened in the history of our nation that have targeted especially African Americans and other minorities," Parker explains. "It's been a real game change in terms of really making headway and turning the minds of people who have either been on the fence or have actually been on the pro-choice side of the issue of life."

The pastor's Christian Family Outreach Ministries and the Family Action Council of Tennessee have joined together to spread the message of Maafa 21.

"We've been having an event that's called a 'Festival for Life,'" he reports. "At these events, we highlight certain for-life resources that are very useful for believers to use that would help to share the whys behind why it's important for us to take a stand for life and against abortion.

Maafa 21, produced by Life Dynamics, has been a successful resource for those festivals, and Parker notes that some churches are showing excerpts from the film during services, while some are creating special events. He adds that the documentary leaves some people in tears. Other say it connects the dots about why abortion has targeted minority communities.
