A grand jury is investigating a Philadelphia abortionist whose clinic held a gruesome secret.

May 14, 2010

The abortionist is 69-year-old Kermit Gosnell, whose medical license has been suspended in two states -- Pennsylvania and Delaware. Troy Newman, who heads Operation Rescue, summarizes the abortionist's story.

"The federal authorities and local [and] state authorities raided his abortion clinic [in Philadelphia] a couple of months ago and said that it looked like a -- quote -- 'shop of horrors,'" states Newman. (See earlier story)

In the clinic, officers found remains of aborted babies dating back as much as 30 years in bottles or in a freezer. Two patients died after having abortions.

Troy Newman"The district attorney's office confirmed that a grand jury has been initiated to investigate Mr. Gosnell for more criminal activity and seeking measures to close this abortion clinic once and for all," the pro-life spokesman adds.

According to Newman, an oxygen tank at the clinic was so layered with dust that it would not have worked had there been an emergency.

"I would bet that [if] this was a veterinarian facility or someplace that does your nails or even a beauty parlor that is licensed and inspected by the state or like a restaurant, this place would have been closed down eons ago," says the Operation Rescue leader.
