Pro-family groups want the Obama administration to step up the fight against pornography.

The Alliance Defense Fund and nearly 400 other advocates sent their concerns to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, July 15, asking him to "speak out publicly against illegal pornography" and "encourage U.S. attorneys to vigorously prosecute the purveyors of obscenity." Read the entire letter here.

The letter points to a 1998 memo Holder released in which he declared, "Because of the nature of the Internet ... investigation and prosecution of Internet obscenity is particularly suitable for federal resources."

"We hope that you still share these same sentiments now that the problem of illegal pornography has become immeasurably worse," the groups responded in the letter.

It also requests that Holder meet with them.
